Since 2006, art therapy has been available to children who attend Special Kids as an auxiliary service. At Special Kids, we desire to provide our children with opportunities and experiences that will inspire and enhance their daily lives beyond the therapeutic and nursing services we provide.
Art therapy exists to promote positive self-esteem for participants by encouraging creativity and self-expression and to increase developmental skills and body control through artistic projects. The children are taught letters, shapes, colors and weekly themes through various artistic components which are incorporated into the art lesson verbally, visually and by example.
The end result... changed lives and beautiful pieces of art that Special Kids is proud to display and share with our friends.
